The Lanier Library plays a unique role in the literary and cultural life of the Carolina Foothills and has done so since 1890.  One of the few remaining subscription libraries in the entire country, the Lanier Library relies on contributions from its members to support:

New books, magazines, newspapers, videos and audio books, as well as digital access through the hoopla platform
Services for readers, including our friendly and knowledgeable staff
Children’s collection and programs
On-going special-interest programs such our annual poetry events and Mystery Festival
Lectures, discussions, and other presentations on wide-ranging topics, including our popular Live @Lanier programs twice a month
Technical services, such as our new integrated library system
Care of our beautiful and historic building and grounds

Lanier receives no government support.   The Lanier Library Association is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.  Our federal tax payer identification number is 56-0582029.
