Providing life-changing resources
and experiences for future generations

Established by the Lanier Library Board in 2020, the Lanier Legacy Fund honors the generosity of members who included the library in their estate plans with a gift of $25,000 or more. Donor recognition plaques are mounted in the Great Hall.

The tree on the plaque is the Dawn Redwood that rises over the Lanier Library parking lot. Until 1944 Dawn Redwoods were believed extinct until accidentally discovered in China.

As of 2008, the Lanier Library Dawn Redwood is listed in the statewide Treasure Tree Program as one of the irreplaceable trees in North Carolina.

We hope others will emulate legacy donors and include the Library in their estate plans. Such generosity helps provide future generations access to life-changing resources and experiences.
